Report on Epsom Family Fun Day (Sun. September 17th 2017)
As in previous years, Churches Together in Epsom decided to hire two neighbouring pitches to show aspects of its work to the local community and engage with people.
This year there were three emphases:
To relate to families with children of all ages by providing various games such as quoits, a sand tray, lucky dip, etc. Great fun was had with peals of laughter at times. Lollipop sweets were available as prizes. There were several good conversations with folk.
“Freebies” were given, the main one being 100 copies of St. Mark’s Gospel (NLT version), entitled ‘The Key to Life’. These were well received by people of all ages There were also other free booklets laid out on the table for people to take.
Dovecote Christian Bookshop also had a presence with items for sale.
The weather was very kind. It was dry and sunny. There was a good festive atmosphere but the event was less well attended than in 2016.
Thanks, go to all those from several Epsom Churches who contributed to a successful presence by the Churches at this community event. There was lots of hard work in planning, setting up, hosting and packing away at the end. There were more helpers from the Churches than in any previous year.
Many seeds were sown and we look for a harvest of good outcomes from the day.
